Chain Stitch

(Tambour Stitch, Point de Chainette)
Made up of a series of single stitches worked in the "sewing" method. To begin, bring needle back to front at 1, reinsert at 1, forming a loop. Bring the needle up at 2 inside the looped thread. 2 is now the beginning point for the next stitch. To end, catch one fiber to the left of the last stitch. May also be worked vertically and diagonally.
