Chain Stitch

(Tambour Stitch, Point de Chainette)
Made up of a series of single stitches worked in the "sewing" method. To begin, bring needle back to front at 1, reinsert at 1, forming a loop. Bring the needle up at 2 inside the looped thread. 2 is now the beginning point for the next stitch. To end, catch one fiber to the left of the last stitch. May also be worked vertically and diagonally. copyright 2002 CDA Member Firms
